Floodplain Development Permits

A Floodplain Development Permit is required for development within mapped flood hazard areas to ensure compliance with FEMA and Borough floodplain regulations.

Review is required if:

  • Your property is located within a mapped flood zone.
  • You are constructing, improving, or placing a structure in a flood hazard area.
  • You are grading, filling, or altering land or watercourses within the floodplain.

Floodplain review may be required in addition to a Zoning Permit.

Review Process: 

  • Application Submission
  • Review of flood zone designation
  • Elevation data review (if applicable)
  • Compliance Determination

Application Materials:

  • Completed floodplain development application
  • To scale site plan
  • Elevation certificate (if applicable)
  • Construction details
  • Other documentation as necessary
